Question of the week
“What should I watch for tonight, and what would make you want to see her again sooner?”
Ask it before you reach the front desk. From the care plan questions
Short checklist

Before the vet comes in

  1. Lead with the one change that worried you most.
  2. Say when it started and how often you see it.
  3. Mention anything new: food, treats, walks, home.
  4. Ask what the next step is, and when.
From the article

“Most of a visit happens in the first few minutes. If the clearest version of the problem comes out first, everything after it gets easier.”

Where to put an air purifier in a dog home

Where the dog sleeps, eats and waits by the door matters more than which room looks empty.

Notes from home

Write down the date a change starts. A rough week is more useful than "a while".

Older dogs change slowly. A monthly photo in the same spot makes it easier to see.

Keep the bed, bowls and blanket on one wash rhythm, and note it on the calendar.

Bring the notes to the visit on paper. Phones get put away in the exam room.
